‘Vocabulary’ is a site-specific art installation that examines the idea of the butterfly effect – in which every action or decision we take generates a chain of reactions and events that affect the entire system – and in a deeper sense, that we are all interconnected and that our actions influence one another and the space in which we operate.

The objects that compose the installation have all been gathered around the area of Halle 6 Gallery. They had previous use and were once the property of anonymous people. Each such object is a time capsule that captures history and memory, and creates a cyclic connection between a sequence of human actions in different time axes.

The installation tries to create the feeling of a mechanism frozen in time. A momentary composition created through the process of selection, arrangement, and cataloging withing an everchanging system. Each element, while placed in the space during the creation of the installation, responded to the elements around it and was organized accordingly. The entire system is a delicate balance of the sum of its components. Every small change is a renewal. Every small change has the potential to lead to a collapse.
